Pradhan Mantri UJALA Yojana 2023 (Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana Gujarat): Various schemes are implemented by the central government over time for the development of rural areas. One of them is Pradhan Mantri Gram Ujala Yojana. Pradhan Mantri Grameen Ujala Yojana was launched on 5 January 2005 by the Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi of the country. Under this scheme LED bulbs are distributed to all families living in rural areas of the country at a concessional rate of just 10/-.

Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana has been launched by Gujarat Government at Vadodara. The Gujarat government will distribute LED bulbs, tubelights, fans at a concessional rate to the families of the state. The Chief Minister has decided to reduce the price of the LED bulbs given under the Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana, which received great response from the citizens of the state. As per the decision taken by the Chief Minister, the LED bulb will be sold at the price of Rs.65/-. And Rs 70/- for EMI has been fixed at the same rate for both residential and commercial customers of the state.

Pradhan Mantri Grameen Ujala Yojana 2022 will be launched next month in rural areas in five cities of the country including Varanasi. Also, Pradhan Mantri Grameen Ujala Yojana will be implemented across the country by April. Under this scheme, LED bulbs will be distributed to families in rural areas for ₹10. In this scheme, three to four LED bulbs will be provided to each family.

The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana

Under Pradhan Mantri UJALA Yojana 2022, LED bulbs will be distributed to every ration card holder in the state of Gujarat. About 9,324 crore units of electricity will be saved every year. Also there will be an estimated saving of Rs 50000 crore. Also poor and middle class people will be able to buy bulbs at cheaper prices.

Cost of items under Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana

 Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana, the Chief Minister of Gujarat has decided to start selling LED tubelights and five star rated fans. 20 volt LED tubelight will be provided to the consumers of the state for Rs 210/-. Also Firestar rated fans will be given at the price of Rs 1,110/-. If the customer wants to buy on EMI, the cost of the LED tubelight will be Rs 200/- and the cost of the fan will be Rs 1,260/-.

Eligibility for PM Ujala Yojana Gujarat

  Applicant should be a resident of Gujarat state only.

Applicant should be above 18 years of age.

All ration card holders of Gujarat state are eligible to get benefits under Pradhan Mantri Ujala Yojana.

Cash and EMI cost of LED bulb/ tubelight/fan

 If the customer buys the LED bulb in cash then it will be Rs 65 per bulb and if he buys on EMI then he will have to pay Rs 70 per bulb.

If the customer buys LED tubelights in cash, each tubelight will cost Rs 230. And if buying on EMI then one has to pay 230 rupees for each tubelight.

If a customer buys a Fystar rated energy program fan in cash, it will cost Rs 1,110 per fan and if buying on EMI, the customer will have to pay Rs 1,260 per fan.
