Poor nutrition level of the mother hinders the growth of the unborn child which results in poor health of the child later on. Malnutrition and vitiligo in pregnant mothers seriously affects the growth and development of the child. In order to improve the nutritional level of mother and child, the period of 270 days from the time a woman conceives and 730 days from birth to 2 years is known as "First Window of Opportunity".

Realizing the importance of this matter, the Government of India has decided to focus on 1000 days in the important goal and operation of the Nutrition Campaign. During this stage, it is very important that protein, cat and micro nutrients are also available in their diet along with food. Considering the importance of this matter, Gujarat Government has approved “Mukhyamantri Matrashakti Yojana” for 1000 days.

Benefits Available: Various Anganwadi from Anganwadi center to each beneficiary every month

Along with the services, it has been decided to provide 2 kg of gram, 1 kg of Tuvar dal and 1 liter of castor oil in Ro-Sation.

The distribution of this kit to the beneficiaries shall be done by the Anganwadi worker/Tedagar sisters from the Anganwadi center to the beneficiary through OTP or other similar means.

This schee will be implemented from 01/06/2022.

Financial provision: Under the scheme, this year Rs. 811.00 crore has been provided. Also for next five years Rs. More than 4000 crores will be provided.
